Born on12-02-1950 at Tjilatjap, Indonesia. Since childhood I am passionate creative with various materials such as oil paint, leather, bronze, wood and etching. I currently work mostly with (combinations of) stone and enamel.

A stone sculpture is robust and it will become comfortably warm in the sun. My sculptures are usually pleasant to be touched. I myself enjoy the physical effort when sculpturing in stone and I like the variations in properties of different types of stone.

By enamelling I can realize wonderful colors that are different, brighter, than for example in oil paintings. Creating images with enamel is challenging because you have to properly consider each successive step in the enamelling process in advance. You can make almost no corrections.

I make mostly three-dimensional art works because I like to see and feel objects from all sides, to walk around them, to view them from different perspectives. Although my work is figurative I try to leave room for individual interpretations. And my work is partly socially engaged since the lives of other people are most interesting  to me.

Over the years I have participated in group exhibitions in various Dutch museums including the Museum of Vlakglas - en Emaillekunst (Museum of Flat Glass and Enamel Art) in Ravenstein, Zeist Castle, museum Jan Cunen in Oss, museums in Rijswijk, Elburg, Epe and Nagele. I also participated in Art and Atelier Routes. As a member of the Association of Dutch Enamellers I deliver contributions to some of the committees.

In the past, I was educated and have had a PhD  as a movement scientist at the Free University of Amsterdam. Until my retirement I worked as a researcher and innovator in rehabilitation, especially the allied health professions. Currently I am coaching a few weeks per year in Bangladesh the students of the university Master of Science in Rehabilitation with respect to their thesis research.
